Hi,My Sony Digital8 DCR-TRV530 Camcorder is not recognized in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my Asus desktop system. I don't get the 'ding' and it's not in Device Manager. This camera has no firewire drivers according to Sony and they should be included withinWindows.

I have tried all my on board firewire ports and my PCI card firewire ports with no luck.I have swapped cables and tried both 4pin-4pin/4pin-6pin cables/ports with still no result. I know the cables/ports work as they recognize my External HDD via Firewire 400 & 800 just fine.I have tried re-installing firewire driver to the 'Legacy' one as suggested in other posts, but still no luck.I know this camera works and it's firewire port is fine as my friend captured video from it to his PC about 1 week before I tried. Also, the display screen on the Camera changes to 'DV IN' once I plug in the firewire - so it's recognizing it on the Camera'sside.For what it's worth, I also couldn't get my Lenova Windows XP Pro 32-bit work laptop to recognize the device.I've seen this issue all over the internet once I started troubleshooting - any fixes yet?Thanks.
