This manufacture code has to do with US cigarette manufacture(date) codes for at least by Phillip Morris/Altria, and(at least) cigarettes made by them. Not sure if RJ Reynolds also has such a manufacture code somewhere on the pack for their US cigarettes, but I think it also does? This is a very good question though, if European cigarettes are stamped with some sort of code to indicate manufacture date. I'd hope they also were stamped with such a code, myself. It probably varies by each tobacco company and the country you happen to be asking about, I bet?. So do both Phillip Morris and RJ Reynolds use this same type of code on their cigarette packs, to indicate when a cigarette pack was originally made?Interesting they only consider cigarettes within 11/2 years of the manufacture date, to be fresh.
